The Sacrament of Confirmation is an important step in the life of faithful Catholics. Through Confirmation we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit which helps us act more like Christ by bearing witness to his Word in the world.
At Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, we help our young people prepare for this important sacrament during months of classes focused on Church doctrine and the rituals, traditions and practices of our faith. Those preparing for Confirmation are required to participate in service experiences to gain insight into the responsibilities that come with our faith to serve those in need.
As with the other Sacraments of Initiation, Confirmation involves joining a community of Catholics. It is also a time to understand the teachings of Christ more fully with specific attention to preparation for the sacrament.
Children from the parish prepare to receive this Sacrament during their eighth grade year at our school or as part of the
Wednesday Faith Formation Program.
If you are seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation as an adult, contact our Director of Faith Formation at the Parish Center: (651) 696-5441. Adults are usually Confirmed after preparing for the sacrament by participating in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Program.
