Nativity of our Lord Parishioners serve dinner at the Dorothy Day Center in downtown St. Paul on the 4th Monday of January, March, May, July, September, and November. Most volunteers commit to two dates a year and help with serving meals or preparing the food.
Nativity also sponsors volunteers who serve meals to people experiencing homelessness at at St. Matthew’s parish. The teams prepare and serve meals to about 300 people at Dorothy Day and about 125 at St. Matthew’s.
This is a family-oriented (children ages 10 and older) opportunity and an excellent way for Nativity School and Faith Formation students to earn Confirmation service hours.
