The Nativity Men’s Club invites all men of the parish to attend the next monthly First Wednesday breakfast at the Coffee Cup Restaurant (1333 Randolph Ave.) Good food and fellowship will be served.
All men who are registered parishioners of the Church of Nativity of Our Lord are members on the Nativity Men’s Club. The Men’s Club’s goals are to advance fellowship and camaraderie, promote and support programs for the youth of our community and support the Church, School, Early Learning Center through fundraisers, volunteers and grants.
The Men’s Club is one of Nativity’s largest service organizations. Their events and activities include: the Christmas Tree Lot, the Fr. John Kelley Cribbage Open, Donut Sundays, the Lenten Fish Fry’s, the Men’s Club Garage Tour, a Grand Old Day Event, an Annual Raffle, the Sport Shirt Stag and Christmas Wreath Sales.
The Men’s Club also supplies man-power to other Nativity functions including: the Scout Pancake Breakfast and the Nativity Stable set up and take down and other facility special projects.
In support of their fellowship and community building goals, they sponsor the Summer & Winter Sports programs, Kindercamp, four softball teams, a fake hockey team and a real broomball team.
In support of their faith development goals, the thirty plus member Board has an annual retreat every fall, host welcome and farewell dinner’s for priests, hosts an annual President’s Party for their wives, hosts a monthly Catholic Apologetics meeting and assists at the Diocese’s Argument of the Month lectures.
In the end, what the Men’s Club raises goes straight to the children of Nativity Parish, School and Early Learning Center to fund really important stuff: new technology, Athletics, extra-curricular organizations, Scouts and of course, the Nativity School Scholarship Fund.
Because donating to the school is something they believe in so deeply, it is their motto.
Pro Liberis, a Latin phrase which translates to “For the Children”.
