Thank you for considering Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church as your faith community.
Nativity has been an integral part of the Macalester-Groveland neighborhood for almost 100 years. During that time, thousands of people have been baptized, received the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation and exchanged their marriage vows in our beautiful church. Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School has educated thousands of local children.
As a community, we are committed to living and acting according to the Catholic faith's principles of justice and respect.
Our parishioners are extremely active and generous with their time and talents. Thanks to their efforts, we are able to work together to fulfill Jesus' directive to make present the Kingdom of God and care for each other and His creation with love and compassion. This is the secret behind our parish's vitality and strong sense of community. Whether you are new to the area, newly engaged, newly considering Catholicism, or just deciding to jump into the Nativity Community, we are glad to welcome you as part of the family!
By registering as a parishioner, you are stepping forward to be identified as a baptized Christian, and have a real claim to the lifelong sacramental graces that Jesus offers
— Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Marriage, Anointing of the Sick, as well as End-of-Life Care and a Christian Funeral. The pastor assigned to each parish has a canonical obligation to sacramentally care for his registered parishioners, as well as each soul in our geographical bounds.
For your part, registering with a parish incorporates you into Jesus's mission to bless each human community with the Good News that God-is-with-us to save. It is not like simply joining a club; it is more like embracing the soil of the community in which you are planted, bearing fruit and drawing life from Jesus Christ like a branch on the Vine. The fruits are incredibly diverse and evident through our sacramental and prayer life, educational mission, numerous ministries, and volunteer opportunities.
There is something for everyone, and as you fill out this registration, we invite you to ask the Holy Spirit where you are being sent on mission! Spend some time with this form - it will probably take 10-15 minutes to complete - but it is well worth the careful investment. We greatly appreciate it!
If you have any questions, or would like some more information before registering, please don't hesitate to call the parish office at (651) 696-5401.
Again, welcome to the family, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
